All
spades are designed
with a very short frame
reducing the need for
stabilizers and counterweight
by 15 to 20 hp in tractor
or skid steer size.
Sizing can be difficult
to determine because
any given spade will
handle a much larger
tree then what will
survive.
Soil conditions and
the amount of water
available for the tree
in the first two years
are just as important
as the spade size.
Sizes given on brochures
are good if the customer
will give some water,
if special care is given
you can increases the
tree size by 1/3, and
if no care is planned
you should decrease
the size by 1/3
Skid-steer
quick-attach as
part of the
frame.
Universal
attachments
(tractor loader
or tractor
3-point hitch)
can be ordered
to adapt onto
frame before or
after spade has
been used, so if
removed, spade
will be ready
for a skid-steer
anytime.

If
you
have
bought
some
basketed
trees
a
tree
auger
is
an
excellent
tool
to
plant
them.
You get a nice tapered hole with nice fine dirt
for
backfilling,
the
fine
lose
dirt
will
seal
off
the
circumference
well
giving
the
tree
much
greater
chance
of
survival
You can spread the remainder around and there is
no
need
to
hall
any
left-over
dirt
away
